The Langkawi Sky Cab.
Cable car is an extra ordinary mode of transportation for me. This aerial link up in the sky is so exhilarating to me. Last year I took an astonishing Langkawi Cable Car ride. The fare for mykad holder is RM15 others RM30 for adult.
Langkawi SkyCab is the trademark for Langkawi Cable Car. The journey is about 2.2 km from the Base Station to the Top Station which took about 15 minutes. The Base Station is at Oriental Village near Burau Bay in Langkawi Island. The top station is located at the peak of Mount Mat Chincang which is 708 m above sea level.
From the right I,my wife,my daughter- in-law,my grandson,my eldest son, my youngest son and my second son. We were so excited to take the breathtaking ride.
At last we reached the Top Station.
You can see the gondolas conveying from station to station. Each gondola can accommodate six persons only. The steepest inclination is from the Base Station to Middle Station which is about 42 degrees and is believed to be the steepest in the world.
At each Station there is viewing platform for you to enjoy the panorama scenery of the rain forest and the popular waterfall in Langkawi that is the Seven Wells Waterfall.
Besides the having the lovely and beautiful scenery and the cool weather of high altitude you can buy food and drink at the cafe located at the Top Station.
An additional attraction to this cable joyride is a cable hanging bridge. A pedestrian hanging cable bridge known as Langkawi Sky Bridge. It is accessible from the Top Station, This hanging cable bridge is about 125m long and 660m above sea level.
Here you could see the Burau Bay from the Top Station. In a clear good weather you could see parts of Thailand in the north and parts of Indonesia particularly Sumatra in the south west while riding the sky cab. The cable car services is closed during bad weather such as very strong wind and during regular maintenance schedule.
